Dave Broom
Nose
Dry, with some raisin, toasted tea cake, wholemeal flour. A slight lactic touch goes with the addition of water, while the nuts turn into Ovaltine.
Palate
Pretty firm, though given a sugared almond sweetness. Soft-centred.
Finish
Clean and nutty.
Comment
An old malty number just about holding its own, but it hasn’t gained hugely in terms of complexity.

Nose
Tasty warm flapjacks, and orange muffins. Sweet orange blossom and good milk chocolate.
Palate
Orange, a green oakiness and lots of dryness.
Finish
Sulphurous, like roast pork crackling.
Comment
Avery dry palate, but a pleasant drop nonetheless.
