- Nose
- Chocolate mints. Dark chocolate. Wax paper. Straw.
- Palate
- Chocolatey. Crunchy. Root ginger. White pepper.
- Finish
- Hot. Alcoholic. Aggressive.
- Comment
- I would never have identified this as an Auchentoshan. Proves 'the Glasgow malt' has plenty of character, but this expression lacks subtlety.

- Nose
- A strange nose: farmyards and mash gas to start, then malt extract, damp raffia and then a dominant raisin-like Marsala-type note.
- Palate
- Sweet and slightly burnt treacle toffee. Slightly unbalanced.
- Finish
- Dry and crisp. Char.
- Comment
- Decent but lacking true balance.
