Nose
Sooty. Treacle toffee. Palate
Peaty, earthy, cedary. Charcoal. Finish
Robust. Sharp. Hot. Comment
Some of the classic Islay elements are there, but discordant. Not well rounded.
Dave Broom
Nose
Sweet, poached pear with a nutty malt at back. Coconut and vanilla. In time sage perfume which with water becomes more oily and lavender like. Palate
Very perfumed. Has become essence like. The overt lavender is calmed with water, making it sweet and lightly smoky once more. Finish
Smoke. Comment
A good spirit dented by that essential oil quality.
