Nose
Grassy and malty. Barley sugar, Weetabix. Cowshed. Corn syrup. Opens up on fruity notes. Summer fruit. Cherry jam. Palate
Incredibly sweet for the strength. Flowing, custardy, then breaks into a spicy burst. Finish
Dry and short. Slightly astringent. Comment
The nose is more attractive than the palate, rather restrained.
Dave Broom
Nose
Clean and leafy (green leaves), light nutty/hay-like maltiness, pie crust, macaroon and a hint of phenols. Water reveals a note like firelighters/leaking primus stove. Palate
Incredibly hot when taken neat. Water calms it and initially shows hazelnut and attractive sweetness. Then it collapses. Finish
Light smoke. Comment
Once again not sufficient complexity or balance to elevate it to greatness.
