- Nose
- Phenolic. Creosote. Sweet malty notes. Briny. Young leather. Lemon peel. Tangerine juice. Morning dew on moss. A touch of smoked mackerel.
- Palate
- Sweet and smoky. Oily. Refreshing. Smoke lingers all the way to the finish.
- Finish
- Slightly sooty, tangy, dry. White pepper.
- Comment
- Straightforward and uncompromising. Very good balance. The classic Islay outdoor dram for simple enjoyment.

- Nose
- Intense. A fluxing mix of barbecue sauce, seaweed, wet sand, hot shells, chocolate, jalapeno, ripe pear/melon, smoked fish. Great balance between the maritime and the fruits.
- Palate
- Light to medium bodied. Once again great impact: lanolin, cordite, peat smoke, creels, seaweed, seashore. A weird elegance.
- Finish
- Long, smoked with a sweet finish.
- Comment
- A cracking whisky from a distillery that's right back on form.
