Nose
Phenolic. Creosote. Sweet malty notes. Briny. Young leather. Lemon peel. Tangerine juice. Morning dew on moss. A touch of smoked mackerel.
Palate
Sweet and smoky. Oily. Refreshing. Smoke lingers all the way to the finish.
Finish
Slightly sooty, tangy, dry. White pepper.
Comment
Straightforward and uncompromising. Very good balance. The classic Islay outdoor dram for simple enjoyment.

Nose
Intense. A fluxing mix of barbecue sauce, seaweed, wet sand, hot shells, chocolate, jalapeno, ripe pear/melon, smoked fish. Great balance between the maritime and the fruits.
Palate
Light to medium bodied. Once again great impact: lanolin, cordite, peat smoke, creels, seaweed, seashore. A weird elegance.
Finish
Long, smoked with a sweet finish.
Comment
A cracking whisky from a distillery that’s right back on form.
