Nose
Delicate, fruity and creamy. Peaches in syrup. Rhubarb marmalade. Burnt twigs. Pine cone. Hint of mushroom broth. Wet sand. Touch of bog myrtle and pepper. Develops on buttery notes. Shortbread. Quite complex for a teenager. Palate
Sweet and sour. Lemon meringue pie. Soot and smoke. Candied rhubarb. Luscious. Finish
Gingery and dry. Comment
An enticing young beauty. Matches subtlety with character.
Dave Broom
Nose
Moderate intensity showing beautifully integrated phenols: lightly perfumed (herbs), farmland, then sea spray, bitumen and finally smoked ham, kippers. Vibrant and complex. Palate
Great mix of sweetness and phenolic depth: rosemary oil, bayleaf. An oily quality which allows the flavours to extend across the palate. Finish
Cooked meats, sweet smoke. Comment
Faultless balance. Has an extra dimension which just edges it past the Bowmore.
