Tasting Notes

Dave Broom Nose Toothpaste/spearmint, macadamia nut but with slightly harsh alcohol behind. Water brings out a waxy note. Palate Sweet, with a lovely peach jam quality which impresses after a let-down of a nose. Finish Gentle smooth hint of smoke. Comment Decent enough, and the palate is lovely, but somehow you expect more after 24 years in the cask.

Arthur Motley Nose Orange, mixed peel, dried papaya and ginger. Subtle swirling smoke and some sweet medicinal character, like Pink Dettol. Some malty, nutty cereal character. Palate Lime starbursts, marmalade and fruit syrup. A great malty body. Finish Sweet, oaky and a little smoky. Comment A great body wearing flattering clothes, the oak showing off the spirit’s considerable curves in a classy way.
