Nose
Pungent, definitely coastal. Creosote. Touch of TCP. Tarry rope. Kippers. Hint of broom. Palate
Silky and soft. A well integrated sherry influence. Floral. Candied grapefruit. Plum jam. Finish
Long, lazily fading out on fruity and liquoriced notes. With light smoke floating around. Comment
A beautiful Islay malt in a sherry refill dressing. Rich aromatic development, great combination of strength and sweetness.
Dave Broom
Nose
A creamy start then creosote on hot wood, dried fruits and a sooty thread of smoke. Behind is a melon-like softness. Even better with water. Burnt toast, sultana, fruit cake. Complex. Palate
A touch of smouldering wood, Arbroath smokie, soft fruits and then bitumen and soot. Finish
Black olives in brine. Comment
A fantastic dram and proof that Bowmore is back.
