Tasting Notes

Dave Broom Nose Mature. Light leather and maltiness. In time, violet then a shift to vanilla, brazil nut, polished oak. Light smoke. Palate An oily start, creosote but with a balancing crisp nuttiness. A slow, peaty fog then tobacco and the cinders of a woodland bonfire. Water brings out damp mash, lanolin, heather and a briny note. Finish Long, perfumed, salty. Comment Has richness and some finesse.

Arthur Motley Nose A handful of lightly peated barley, tea tree and a musky, perfumed element. Band Aids. A creaminess, like a creamy coffee. Crème de dulce. Palate Forest fruits and charcoal, with bonfire smoke. Finish A little more smoke fading to burnt sage. Comment A good complex mix of floral flavours, fruit and smoke.
