- Nose
- Very rich and heavily sherried. Fig rolls, fruit cake, bitter orange and a light almost tarry note. becomes ever sweeter with luscious coffee notes and a subtle fragrance on top.
- Palate
- Ripe with tomato leaf, black cherry and walnut and a hint of smoke. Good grip balancing a very silky feel.
- Finish
- Long and generous.
- Comment
- It's not my preferred style of whisky, but this has real class and excellent balance.

- Nose
- Unmistakably sherried. Wood gives the pitch. Damp warehouse walls, wet pine needles, humus, earthy roots. It's like walking in a thick sun deprived forest.
- Palate
- Sweet at start. Velvety. Then begins the tastebud dance. Spicy and tickly, with a bitter edge toward the finish. But deep and rich.
- Finish
- Long, spicy, slightly bitter.
- Comment
- An old fellow on the oak side but with elegancy.
