Dave Broom
Nose
Very rich and heavily sherried. Fig rolls, fruit cake, bitter orange and a light almost tarry note. becomes ever sweeter with luscious coffee notes and a subtle fragrance on top.
Palate
Ripe with tomato leaf, black cherry and walnut and a hint of smoke. Good grip balancing a very silky feel.
Finish
Long and generous.
Comment
It’s not my preferred style of whisky, but this has real class and excellent balance.

Nose
Unmistakably sherried. Wood gives the pitch. Damp warehouse walls, wet pine needles, humus, earthy roots. It’s like walking in a thick sun deprived forest.
Palate
Sweet at start. Velvety. Then begins the tastebud dance. Spicy and tickly, with a bitter edge toward the finish. But deep and rich.
Finish
Long, spicy, slightly bitter.
Comment
An old fellow on the oak side but with elegancy.
