- Nose
- Tangy, oak speaks out. Earthy, damp cellar. Mushrooms. Pine cones. Opens up on creamy notes. Apples cooked in butter.
- Palate
- Sweet at start then oak quickly comes on stage. Slight astringency. Mixed spices.
- Finish
- Dry, nutty with a touch of milk chocolate. A spicy hint.
- Comment
- Wood bosses around. Lacks subtlety and complexity. Leaves a burning sensation.

- Nose
- Start slightly sulphury with hints of ripe soft cheese. Pretty funky and leathery. With water out comes a mix of wax, moss and sandalwood.
- Palate
- Much better than the nose. A hot paprika burn which starts in the middle of the palate and runs to the finish.
- Finish
- Mossy.
- Comment
- A palatable whisky which comes as some relief after the initially alarming nose.
