Nose
Resiny, earthy. Sour fruit like cider apples. The cereal character is not obvious at first. Palate
Sweet, oaky. Cider notes. Caramelised apples. With water, a mushroom touch. Finish
Dry, spicy, slightly astringent. Comment
Unusual profile for a grain whisky. More reminiscent of a calvados. Oak is too blatant. Water wipes it out.
Dave Broom
Nose
Pinkish hue and an aroma of rhubarb, red apple, fruit compote, pomegranate juice but all of them teetering on the edge of mouldiness. Palate
Rich with an assertive oiliness from the supporting oak. Rich and spicy: cinnamon stick. Slick and tongue-coating. Finish
Short and overly dry Comment
Split into spirit on one side and wood on the other.
