Nose
Quite youthful with fishy, briny, sugar coated barley, gentle medicinal peat and seaweed. Powerful but gentle with developing tar, manure and dusty peat.
Palate
Opens with gently sweetened barley, hints of brine and restrained sooty peat. Not as forceful as the nose but pleasantly subtle. Again it feels quite young with a salty, tart citrus middle.
Finish
Tart, citric and salty, underpinned by the sweet barley. Quite mouth-watering with lingering menthol and bog myrtle notes.
Comment
Comments: A lovely, young Islay with plenty of sweet barley to balance the coastal astringency.

Nose
Delicate peat kiln, tropical fruits and citrus: lemon, orange, pineapple, honeysuckle. Delicately fierce.
Palate
Light smoke, cookie dough, fresh barley. An attractive sweetness to it finishing on a salted caramel tone.
Finish
Long and light, picturing a dwindling fire, with a very thin streak of smoke.
Comment
Well balanced, not abrasive, great for a winter's eve.
