Nose
Fruity and oaky. A musty touch then more fruit. Stewed apples. Vanilla toffee. Victoria sponge cake.
Palate
Smooth and velvety but followed by a grippy feel. Oak speaks up with a dry spiciness and an astringent note.
Finish
Dry, spicy and astringent too.
Comment
The palate confirms the nose with dominant oak. Water tends to tone the wood down a little. It lacks balance for me. But those who like oakiness will enjoy.

Nose
Caramel wafer, almond croissants, preserved lemons, candy floss, a little fresh paint and some wood shavings.
Palate
Sweet with a lemon tart edge. Icing sugar and pastry, custard creams, then a drying element comes in.
Finish
Dries leaving a dense sweet citrus tang.
Comment
A pretty solid dram and well put together. Balanced.
