Nose
Faint whiff of peat. Palate
Starts fresh and soft as spring water. Then develops delicate flavours, but plenty of them: flowery; a hint of cereal-grain sweetness, the faintest hint of peat. Finish
Refreshing. Very late saltiness. Comment
A very light, clean expression. Scapa deserves to be in regular production.
Dave Broom
Nose
Light and earthy: some banana, but pretty lean and woody. Palate
Very sweet with light tropical fruit (lemon and orange Opal fruits), Spiky alcohol. Wood is quite firm. Finish
Heathery. Comment
Lacks the energy and the lusciousness you expect from Scapa.
