Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith

Nose
Initially zesty, perfumed, with developing vanilla and leather. Finally, as it dries out, lemons.
Palate
Assertive oak, developing into sherry and toffee.
Finish
More delicate oak, with attractive caramel notes cutting in later.
Comment
Good balance-has stood up to its cask well, retaining a zest not overwhelmed by age.

Dave Broom

Nose
Toasty. Plenty of oak, pine sap, sawn wood, floor polish, then Lockets, mint nutmeg, praline.
Palate
A mix of soft and dry. Creamy texture balanced by sweet grippy oak. Guava, ripe orange, deck oil, biscuit, butterscotch toffee.
Finish
Light oak, coconut, toffee.
Comment
Fantastic for its age. Has retained the signature freshness.
