Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith Nose Leather, saddle soap, 'fousty'. Palate Quite thick mouthfeel, dominant dry oak. Finish Mixed spices and raisins behind the oak, but struggling. Comment Hasn't held up for its age anything like as well as the previous thirty-something Bruichladdich. The cask has won this battle.

Dave Broom Nose Old, mature. Bung cloth, raisin, cereal, boot polish, lardy cake. Like an old warehouse. Becomes mustier with time. Damp wood. Palate Mixed dried fruits, dry clootie dumping mix. Old and fading fast. Finish Light tingle of ginger. Comment Gone, just spent too long in the cask.
