75
- Nose
- Gentle. Peardrops, butterscotch, a hint of lemon.
- Palate
- Initial apples and sherbet, hard toffee. Some woody notes ultimately predominate.
- Finish
- Quite short, more toffee, oak.
- Comment
- Knockando is always a well-mannered whisky, although this expression seems a tad tired.
77
- Nose
- Malt bin, lime and orange, passion fruit, coffee ice cream becoming hugely, almost alarmingly creamy: fudge, butter.
- Palate
- Creaminess seems to hide. Direct and nutty with a crisp centre. Pigskin leather. Dry and malty.
- Finish
- Dusty.
- Comment
- The first clotted cream finish? Amazing freshness for this age. A great cask – quick use it again!
