Nose
Spirity. Alcohol tickles nostrils, a creamy custardy sweetness in the back with a fruity sourness. Peat is hardly discernable. Palate
Sweet and sour. Smooth too. Peat and smoke have been melted into a fruit basket. An earthy touch. Finish
Dry, peppery. Not smoked nor peated Comment
An almost unpeated version of Bowmore? A (too) perfect integration of peat in wood? Unusual.
Dave Broom
Nose
Salty and vibrant with a spicy nature. Hint of salted anchovy, creamy malt, mint chocolate, orange Club biscuits. What smoke there is suggests bitumen and dried lavender. Palate
Orange crates, sweet yet tart. A wisp of subtle smoke hits mid-palate. Still a marine freshness into salt offseting the sweetness. Finish
Dry, oak. Comment
An old lady, but a feisty old lady. The smoke is a memory.
