- Nose
- Initially this is all fennel tops, then it deepens and sweetens: vanilla, maple syrup, spun sugar. Bourbon?
- Palate
- Immediate impact of spice: nutmeg, allspice and toasty grip. Good with water. Mature, woody, smooth.
- Finish
- Firms up nicely.
- Comment
- Want to get bourbon drinkers into whisky, give ‘em grain! Maybe not 40 Years Old grain but it could be the way in.

- Nose
- Pleasant tanginess. Fresh crushed white grapes (Italia). Cider cellar. Then freshly baked fruit cake. Hint of praline.
- Palate
- More sherried than on the nose. Rubbery. A smoky note (like a dying fire). Coffee toffee.
- Finish
- Long, liquoriced. Spicy dryness.
- Comment
- Another classic sherry, especially on the palate. No water please.
