- Nose
- Big-boned and gentle with decent dusty rye alongside toffee apple, herbs
and and crisp new warehouse oakiness. Becomes woody with water.
- Palate
- Cinnamon/cassia and the sweet dustiness comes through notes of damask rose and grippy wood.
- Finish
- Firm and oaky.
- Comment
- A powerful distillate which is best neat.

- Nose
- Perfumy. Parma violet. Dried apricot. Quite a solid oaky frame. Polished
furniture. Touch of sandalwood. Vetiver. Rhubarb jam.
- Palate
- Crisp and dry. Oak is overwhelming with a definite astringency which
tends to mask the fruit flavours. Spices take the lead.
- Finish
- Spicy and bitter.
- Comment
- An old bourbon which has taken too much wood. Sad as there is elegancy
and complexity on the nose.
