- Nose
- Scenty. Dates. Turkish delight. Caramel.
- Palate
- Buttery fudge. Cocoa. Bitter chocolate.
- Finish
- Hint of citrus. Cedary, sappy. A good heavy char in the oak? Contrives to be soothing and appetising.
- Comment
- The big, malty, chocolately style that I associate with Evan Williams. A lovely, voluptuous, afterdinner bourbon. Gains from a splash of water.

- Nose
- Quite delicate, with tingling spices, orange peel, dusty rye notes, lemon, anis. More biscuity with water.
- Palate
- A gentle start, a salvo of spices, then the rye appears. Refined.
- Finish
- Spicy oak.
- Comment
- I like this different, less overt, single barrel style. Yet another surprise in what is a hugely diverse and high quality range of whiskies.
