Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose More assertively smoky. Palate Smoother, richer, sweeter. Finish Spicier. More peppery. Seaweed more iron-like. Comment Has mellowed with the extra years, but, as is sometimes the case with island malts, it seemed happier with the vigour of youth.

Martine Nouet Nose Intense, smooth. Shellfish, wet seaweed. Sea aromas soon give way to biscuity notes. Vanilla, honey, marzipan. Toasted almonds. Palate Round, velvety. Sweet mouthfeel like creamy fudge. Coconut milk. The smokiness drifts away very quickly. Becomes syrupy with water. Finish Long; drier, spicier than the 17 Years Old. Comment Same sweetness as the 17, but coastal aromas fade quickly. Distinct woodiness.
