Dave Broom

Nose: A candy floss sweetness with some green plum, lemon balm, eucalyptus and oak. Water brings out a cinnamon note and garrigue like herbs. Good balance.
Palate: Perfumed, silky and sweet in the centre with fizzing spices. Good succulent flow which balances the perfumed notes with spice and toffee apple. Better with water. Great balance.
Finish: Tight and spicy, some cherry.
Comment: Sugar and spice and all things nice.

Martine Nouet

Nose: Spicy and fruity. All spice, cubèbe pepper, touch of caraway. Date chutney. A rich dried fruit sweetness tones down the wood grip.
Palate: Deceiving. The sweetness promised by the nose is not here. Very sour. Like old cider.
Finish: Much nicer than midpalate.
Comment: A teasing nose but a dour profile on the palate. Too old? Bad wood? Water enhances the spices and masks the sourness.
