Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet

Nose
Spirity. A bowl of cereal. Honeyed popcorn. Grassy. Green tea. Touch of angelica. Crème caramel. Lots of vanilla.
Palate
Crisp, neat. Orange marmalade. Very astringent. Oak and high strength give a burning kick to the tastebuds.
Finish
Dry, rather short, astringent.
Comment
Where is the pleasure? Even with water, one feels the burn, which covers the flavours. I am no masochist, thank you.

Dave Broom

Nose
The deepest and sweetest on show. Ridiculous levels of honey and caramel and char. Black honey, coffee. Liqueur like.
Palate
Big and fat and slightly lacking in definition and grip. Heart-burning alcohol levels. Fruits slightly sour. Not balanced.
Finish
Floppy.
Comment
A no-holds barred glass, but doesn’t have the class of the best on show.
