60- Nose
- Intense. Wood dominates. Resin. Sawdust. Overripe pear, hazelnut.
- Palate
- Firm, assertive malty notes. A touch of orange peel but not much to deliver.
- Finish
- Did you say finish? It vanishes in a flash.
- Comment
- Too monolithic. No variety. The nose opens up after a while though.
Dave Broom
70- Nose
- Very malty (malt loaf spread thickly with butter) with a slightly slick caramel/peanut brittle note. Water brings out floor wax and honey.
- Palate
- Juicy red grapes to start then it's nuts (yet again!), some spice. Soft and slightly sweet mid-palate.
- Finish
- A little short.
- Comment
- Decent run-of-the-mill style.
