Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Fresh leather. Attractive blend of sherry and peat. Palate Creamier. Raisiny. At this stage the sherry seems to find common cause with sweet, juicy oak. The peat emerges when water is added. Finish Teasing. Smoky, smooth. Comment A very sophisticated bottling. Perfect after a fine dinner.

Jim Murray Nose Surprisingly etheric for a malt this age with a peculiar plasticine like waxiness. A light brushing of smoke balances the vanilla. Palate Big, fat start with an oily peatiness undulating in intensity as a leathery, bee's wax like maltiness offers a wonderfully restrained sweetness. Finish Lengthy, a build up of vanilla tapers the dryness. Comment A lovely malt more delicious for its effect than its complexity.
