Nose
Flowery. Roses. Darjeeling tea. Peat. Palate
Firm maltiness. Cake-like. Slightly honeyed. Finish
Surge of spiciness. White pepper. Comment
I have always enjoyed Glen Garioch as one of the few peaty whiskies still made in the Highlands. I hope this peaty character does not totally vanish.
Dave Broom
Nose
Clean, cereal-dominated nose: nutty wholemeal toast with some butter. In time a soft toffee note/apple sponge. Water crisps it up. Fresh and quite light. Palate
Soft and mealy with pleasant light tangerine notes. Clean. Medium dry. Finish
Light, clean. Floury. Comment
An everyday, mid-weight malt.
