Nose
Rich. Expressive. Notably banana-like. Palate
Smooth. Substantial. Restrained banana. A hint of dessert apple. A dash of Calvados. Shortbread. Malty. Toffeeish. Finish
Creamy. Soothing. Comment
Not quite as complex as the previous 16 Years Old, but delicious.
Dave Broom
Nose
Light maltiness alongside maturity: stewed fruits, créme brûlée, barley sugar, red apple. Rounded. Develops notes of chocolate eclair and peach. Palate
Silky mid-palate. Custard-like. Cooked soft fruit, toasted almond, tea bread and a little cedar. Finish
Soft, quite short. Comment
Of more interest than the Classic simply due to its extra dimensions.
