- Nose
- Rich maltiness. Some sherry.
- Palate
- Clean, firm, nutty, toasty. Becoming marshmallowy. A hint of ginger.
- Finish
- Silky. Smoky. A well-judged touch of peaty dryness.
- Comment
- I have long had a sneaking feeling that this malt was underrated. It is: based on my first tasting of the day, in April, 2003.

- Nose
- Very malty (Weetabix) medium-bodied with light oak and a mossiness/fresh-turned sod note. With water, there's coconut pulp, orange, nougat.
- Palate
- Dry, crisp and quite oaky. Some light honey, and orange again alongside maltiness.
- Finish
- Dry, short but appetising.
- Comment
- A good, solid all-rounder.
