Nose
Lightly resinous (good age?) with baked fruits and lightly charred lift. A little shy. With water there's maple syrup/toffee apple and a touch of malt.
Palate
Immediately spicy, nutmeg to the fore. A thick caramel quality in the middle then a prick of orange zest. Tongue coating. Slightly fragile feel.
Finish
Soft and nutty.
Comment
Good, but for me just lacks the extra layer of complexity to lift it to the next level.

Nose
Intense, rich. Orange marmalade, candied kumquat. Marzipan. Opening on more fruit, exotic this time. Passion fruit juice. Luscious dessert aromas.
Palate
Silky, gently flowing. Sweet but well balanced, with the same rich and luscious sensation. Orange cake.
Finish
Dry,slightly spicy,with a touch of toasted hazelnuts.
Comment
An elegant and well-structured dram. But I would avoid water. Funny how water wakes the oakiness up but also tones down all the rest.
