Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet

Nose
Leather, sheepskin. Sherried oak. Quickly develops on fruit. Sour apples. Stewed summer fruit. Redcurrants and raspberry.
Palate
Sweet, winey. Slightly watery at mid-palate. Becomes oaky.
Finish
Oaky but not dry. Rather short.
Comment
To be enjoyed like a glass of port. Bring walnuts and blue cheese.

Dave Broom

Nose
Roast chestnut, treacle, Old English marmalade. Becomes like incense like/resinous with water. Briary notes, Turkish Delight, gingerbread and raisin, parma violet, hint of peat. Antique shop.
Palate
Quite firm, black fruits, raisin. Good grip but not too tannic. Runny toffee. Rich.
Finish
Lightly tannic autumn leaves.
Comment
Has hidden depths. Doesn't like water.
