- Nose
- Oaky.
- Palate
- Medium to full. Very firm. Oaky start, with nutty maltiness and raisiny sweetness fighting through. Tightly locked flavours open with a dash of water.
- Finish
- Peat. Log fires. Oak.
- Comment
- Some of the voluptuousness has sagged with age.

- Nose
- Beautifully defined oak; almost chestnut sweet with clean sherry, softly peated and bourbony.
- Palate
- Oak again, teasingly spicy with sweetness and intense malt. Hint of liquorice .
- Finish
- Long, chewy, smoky and initially sweet with the liquorice continuing, dries slowly to an oaky encore.
- Comment
- An almost immaculate portrayal of an old-fashioned, high quality malt. Quite outstanding for its age.
