Nose
Complex and deep. A mix of earthy fragrance with some sultana behind. Restrained, enigmatic and fascinating. Honeyed tones with earthiness.
Palate
Smoky start. Quite vinous in texture. Fruits and then a drying finish. Roasted nut. Physically coppery. Long, subtle and elemental.
Finish
Long with and elegant pure fruit and a hint of smoke.
Comment
Remarkable.

Nose
Oily, nearly tarry. Odd smell of car oil, like entering a garage. Some biscuity notes come through.
Palate
Crisp, dry. Earthy note. Watercress. Salty taste.
Finish
Liquorice, still dry but with a sweet note.
Comment
A tired cask ? An unusual taste. There is a dour note in this whisky which is not attractive but the salty flavour is appetising. I am puzzled!
