Nose
Dense, yet sweet. Mix of coffee,dusty sherried notes. Sooty smoke. Goes deep into leaf mould,carbonised fruits,burnt sticks,then menthol.
Palate
Dry,firm tannic structure. There's residual sweetness here,the cask has had such huge influence. Tight even with water and a little too bitter for me.
Finish
Slightly astringent. Bitter chocolate.
Comment
Just too much cask influence for the sake of balance.

Rich oak. Sweet fruit notes. Dry apricot, damson plums. Walnut stain.
Palate
Syrupy,thick but so astringent. Cocoa beans. So much oak. The dried fruit is covered by a thick coat of dark chocolate. Coffee beans too.
Finish
Dry,bitter,not as long as expected.
Comment
An old fellow which has been drowned in oak. Where is the distillery character?
