- Nose
- Intense, elegant, complex. Fruit and oak are intertwined in a luscious fragrant bouquet. Peaches stewed in honey. Dates and dried apricot. Sandalwood. Touch of incense. Walnut.
- Palate
- Silky, caressing. Again, a perfect integration of oak and fruit. So
complex. Dried fruit like Dundee cake.
- Finish
- Lingering, elegantly nutty.
- Comment
- Incredibly “alive” for a 43 Years Old whisky. Absolutely wonderful. Fully matured or just finished in a cognac cask ? Whatever, it worked superbly.

- Nose
- Very perfumed with an almost vinous quality to the nose. Blackberries, perfumed candles mixed with honeysuckle, ginseng, tamarind and a dunnage-like earthiness.
- Palate
- More wood apparent but only to add to the weird exoticism. Rancio galore. Plenty of musk and a pleasing bitterness - powdered clove, star anise and hints of vintage rhum agricole.
- Finish
- Spiced and long.
- Comment
- For me best neat. A must-have.
