Nose
Intense oakiness. Cedar wood. Antique shop. Overcooked damson fruit jam. Dark chocolate. Vetiver root.
Palate
Bitter chocolate, bitter liquorice root, bitter raisins. There is a lot of elegancy and complexity. Reminiscent of very old cognacs.
Finish
Bitter and sweet. Not as lingering as expected. Dusty black pepper.
Comment
Difficult to evaluate these very old whiskies. This sherry cask retains complexity, charm and distinction.

Nose
Deep dark treacle, intense cedar, pipe tobaccos, leather chairs, ginger, melon and Parma ham. Some French polish and beeswax, floral after a while.
Palate
Very thick and mysterious. Pine forest floors, bitter marmalade, that Parma ham meatiness. A hint of spearmint.
Finish
Drying with a lavender bread note.
Comment
Such grace and layers for an old whisky. Gorgeous.
