Nose
Malty and oaky. Farmyard note of wet straw. Then the nose opens on fruit. Stewed apples and medlars. Very autumnal, with an earthy touch. Fruit loaf with lots of sultanas. Complex, multilayered. Custard and toffee.
Palate
Crisp, lively. Sweet fruit then dusty spices emerge.
Finish
Long, slightly astringent then soothing on custardy notes.
Comment
A complex nose, a clean and lively palate. Alcohol is well mastered. Oak is well integrated. A touch of water cuts the edges. Very enjoyable.

Nose
Earthy, autumnal, sherry must, but there is a lot of fruit here too, stewed pears, apple crumble, malt loaf.
Palate
Quite dark and dense in flavours, more fruit comes through.
Finish
Drying and crisp.
Comment
Holds together really well with wonderful complex flavours. Lovely stuff.
