Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Deceptive. Seems restrained, but at close quarters is quite powerful. Nutty, with a splash of lemony sourness. Palate Big, firm. Hard toffee. Burnt, peat-smoke, notes. Finish Spicy. Ginger snaps. Shortbread. Long, lingering. Comment Confident. Straightforward. A first-class whisky. Well-rounded. No-nonsense.

Dave Broom Nose Big, rich, appetising nose: Dundee cake, oak, sherry, ripe fruits, fern/bracken and the greenish edge you seem to get with many 12 Years Olds. Palate Robust, deep and fruity with lovely rich oaky notes. Finish A little short. Comment A powerful bugger and a great introduction to the distillery style, but you feel you’d get much more in a couple of years.
