Nose
Shy. A grassy note. Quite perfumy and enticing on time. Water chesnut. Very elegant. Palate
Smooth, satisfying. Oak is well integrated. Pear. Orange and almond tart. Spices burst out after the sweet release. Finish
Medium, refreshing. Slightly nutty. Comment
Delivers more than expected. Seems a bit bland at start but it displays an attractive array of aromas and flavours on time. The rum influence is under control.
Dave Broom
Nose
Mature. Malty with dark chocolate-covered strawberries, some prune. With water becomes musky with hints of cedar and a gentle relaxed sweetness held in check by quite firm oak. Palate
Softer than the nose suggests and significantly sweeter. Layers of fruits, cocoa, syrup, demerara sugar, coffee. Finish
Cigar-like then softens and sweetens. Comment
Great balance. An exemplary finish.
