Dave Broom

Nose
Clean with light malty/cereal notes. Sweet with cream,floor polish nightscented stocks and dry lavender just in the background.
Palate
Juicy,sweet stewed apple/poached pear. Clean with gentle maltiness giving enough grip. Fresh but with surprising substance in the centre.
Finish
Light and dry.
Comment
Bigger than I recall with better oak interaction and all the better for it. Do not underestimate or dismiss.

Nose
Fresh and sweet. Very fruity with a soft fruit (almost pears and ripe apples) roundness to it. A creamy oakiness as wel.l
Palate
The fruit notes develop,with an white chocolate note.Reminicent of pears in cream. Light toasted nuts also.
Finish
Very fragrant and drying.
Comment
The daddy of all single malts proves why it holds the top spot. Often passed over for more exotic fare,but a cracking example of poise and balance.
