Nose
Bitter (pickled) plums and damp straw. Clearly aged with touches of rape seed oil. The weird opening flies off revealing walnut oil, damp ferns. Becomes increasingly interesting and complex.
Palate
Medium bodied with plenty of crisp wood, peppermint then clove. Lightly astringent (those plums again).
Finish
Nuttiness returns.
Comment
Has a certain louche charm to it.

Nose
Warm, oaky. Milk chocolate, apples baked in oven, bread and butter pudding. Appetising and rich. With water, a creamy vanilla note.
Palate
Round and smooth. Oak is well integrated. Cloved orange. Darker chocolate than on the nose.
Finish
Smooth, quite lingering. Liquorice.
Comment
A well balanced whisky. A pleasant delivery of dessert-like flavours.
