- Nose
- Bitter (pickled) plums and damp straw. Clearly aged with touches of rape seed oil. The weird opening flies off revealing walnut oil, damp ferns. Becomes increasingly interesting and complex.
- Palate
- Medium bodied with plenty of crisp wood, peppermint then clove. Lightly
astringent (those plums again).
- Finish
- Nuttiness returns.
- Comment
- Has a certain louche charm to it.

- Nose
- Warm, oaky. Milk chocolate, apples baked in oven, bread and butter pudding. Appetising and rich. With water, a creamy vanilla note.
- Palate
- Round and smooth. Oak is well integrated. Cloved orange. Darker
chocolate than on the nose.
- Finish
- Smooth, quite lingering. Liquorice.
- Comment
- A well balanced whisky. A pleasant delivery of dessert-like flavours.
