Tasting Notes

Arthur Motley

Nose
Fragrant, like a guava or kushi pear. Floor polish, mint syrup, artificial cherry flavour and a whiff of wood glue.
Palate
Orange, raisins, goosberries and a balsa woodiness indicating a good bit of age.
Finish
A light burnt character, and possibly some rose. Relatively subtle, whispering of its age.
Comment
Complex, old, not perfect, but good darned fun!

Dave Broom

Nose
Intense, mature and complex. Fruit coulis made from slightly tart hedgerow fruits and mint. Raspberry leaf, light cream, beech nut, patisserie.
Palate
Layers of flavour with a zesty, citric quality. Balanced oak, Seville orange, mulled wine. Firm and nutty structure but has sweetness to balance.
Finish
Long, generous, complex.
Comment
This is a stunningly great whisky, subtle and profound...
