Nose
Funky. Cheddar cheese rind and light prune, then waxed jackets. After time in the glass sherried fruits emerge. It's considerably more straightforward with water – take your choice.
Palate
So soft it comes as a shock after such a direct nose. Gentle, smooth and almost shy with very gentle soft fruits.
Finish
Juicy, then light barley.
Comment
Just get the feeling that bottling at a slightly higher strength might have given it the kick it needs for the palate to balance the nose.

On the oak side. Sawdust. Joiner cabinet. A sweet touch. Toffee
Palate
Smooth, velvety. Hazelnut fudge. Quite weak at midpalate. Too soft.
Finish
Short. Fades away quickly. Drying on an astringent note.
Comment
Nothing really unlikeable, apart from that soft weakness. But nothing to get excited about. Water kills it.
