Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Very aromatic. Smells like a freshly cut tree. Resiny. Lemon skins.
Palate
Dry creaminess. Vanilla pods. Cinnamon. Tropical fruits. Paw-paw.
Finish
Like biting into a tree bark. Hot, spicy, flavours. Cloves?
Comment
A rather eccentric version of Glengoyne. Very distinctive. A digestive after Thai food or even a curry?

Dave Broom

Nose
Sweet, honeyed and woody. Water brings out honey nut cornflakes, fruit and nut, oak, clover and a whiff of sap and the farmyard.
Palate
Soft and quite honeyed. Toasted almonds, rose, dolly mixtures. Sweeter than standard Glengoyne.
Finish
Sweet, but oak takes charge.
Comment
Scottish oak veneer? A fascinating experiment, but the really interesting malt, Glengoyne matured in Scottish oak refill, is yet to come.
