Michael Jackson
Nose
Light, polished oak. Lemon, cinnamon and ginger.
Palate
Assertive flavours. Sweet then suddenly dry, salty, and nutty.
Finish
Long, echoing interplay of crystal-sugar sweetness and oaky dryness. Soothing.
Comment
As a relatively restrained whisky, Glenkinchie stands up well to the amontillado finish.

Nose
Roast chestnut, malty, sherry ish. Brisk and brittle, impressive.
Palate
Shows at first a biscuity-sweetness. Big and malty while the sherry remains slightly subdued.
Finish
Quite long but now oaky as the malt and sherry seem played out.
Comment
Far more complex than the standard Glenkinchie. Quite intriguing stuff, not least because it is best very slightly chilled.
