- Nose
- Deep, fruity, toffeeish.
- Palate
- Clotted cream. Cinnamon. Spicy. Liquorice. Rooty. Nutty. Developing dry fruitiness. Very long.
- Finish
- Yet further length. The flavours concentrate in a winey, spicy, warming "cough syrup".
- Comment
- Perhaps more robust, less elegant, than the previous bottling, but full of flavour and soundly structured.

- Nose
- Sweet, fruity and estery: brown sugar, mashed banana, orange peel, maraschino cherry juice, dried mango. Oak-softening with water.
- Palate
- Thick, sweet, chewy and liquorous. Cooked fruits, creamy custard. Complex and teasing.
- Finish
- Sweet. Rosehip.
- Comment
- A resounding success. Would make a great, if expensive, Rob Roy.
