Dry, nutty, sherry notes, but the saltiness still comes through.
Palate
Much more voluptuous than the more familiar bourbon versions. Long, sustained, flavour development. Sherryish richness almost overpowers the distillery character.
Finish
Liquorice. rooty. Late, restrained, saltiness.
Comment
Quite heavily sherried, but the distillery character turns out to be surprisingly resilient.
Deep and enticing, peaches and cream and a little added salt and sour.
Palate
Rounded and nutty while the cocoa and sherry are paraded.
Finish
Warm and lingering giving way to salt and oak.
Comment
Interesting and complex with some characteristics reminiscent of Scotland's other national drink.
