Martine Nouet
Nose
Sherry. Rubbery. Lilac.
Palate
Sherry prevails. Burnt oak. Slightly sulphurous. Touch of chestnut.
Finish
Surprisingly discreet for what could be expected from a sherried malt.
Comment
Sherry influence calls the tune. Water calms the flavours down.

Nose
Gold. Dry spices, garam masala/coriander powder. Reminds me of an old trunk in the loft. There’s some chocolate/biscuity notes, burnt orange and spent matches. Undemanding stuff.
Palate
Clean and lightly malty. Slightly dry with a little bitterness on the side of the mouth.
Finish
Nuts.
Comment
Easy-going, but nothing to get too excited about.
