- Nose
- Freshly cut ripe, sweet, pears. Scented.
- Palate
- Tastes of cream, nectarines, melons and pears. Soft, stalky and woody.
- Finish
- Refreshing.
- Comment
- Not much complexity, but an unusually summery whisky.
75
- Nose
- Spirity and ethereally light. More malty and sweet when reduced.
- Palate
- A hot dram at first, but offers immediately a faultlessly clean maltiness.
- Finish
- More of the same. The final notes show a lush richness usually associated with small stills and lots of copper.
- Comment
- Beyond the stark, disappointing nose, this is a genuinely fine dram. The star turn is the balance.
